Entering my school I couldn't wait until the 40 hour famine started because we had a sleep over that point England school which is the school I go to. As I walked into the library all I saw were my friends and I was happy that this day has came. Saying goodbye to my Mum my friends all came and gave me a hug like they have never seen me in ages.
When everyone got here we all gathered together and talked about what is going to be happening tonight and what we are allowed to do and what where not. This is my first time ever coming to 40 hour famine sleepover before and I'm happy I signed up.
The first thing that we did was we played a game that the famine leaders made up for us and we also found out what team colour we were in and I was in team blue.

How To Make A Flute .
Equipment:

Straw
Pliers
Step 1:You will Need to flatten The ends of the straws with the pliers.
Step 2: After you have done that you will need to cut the flatten bits like it shows in the picture.
Step 3:If you wanna Plays songs you could Cut some more holes in the straw. And Start Playing it .
How To Make A Guitar .
Scissors
Rubber bands
Cardboard box
Step 1: You have to cut a hole in the middle of a square box.
Step 2: Then you put about 5-6 holes on to each side so it looks like this
Step 3:Then paint the body of the guitar I desired. This is easiest to do before you’ve strung it, as paint will change the sound and elasticity of the rubber bands.
Step 4:Place the knotted dowel into the body of the guitar and feed the rubber bands up through the string holes. The dowel will hold the rubber bands securely in place.
Step 5:Stretch each string across the central guitar hole and into the corresponding string hole on the other side.
Step 6:Place another dowel inside the body of the guitar and tie the loose string ends to it. Do this one string at a time for maximum accessibility. Be sure to make each string slightly looser than you would ideally like, as you will be tightening them later. If desired, make each string a different length to achieve different notes.
Step 7:Glue the last two dowels to the front of either side of the central guitar hole beneath the strings. Place the first dowel underneath the middle of the strings, slide it to one end, and glue it in place to lift that end of the strings; repeat on the other side. When you’re done, the strings will not only be lifted off the face of the guitar, but also have a tighter sound.
Step 8:Find a long piece of material that will readily attach to the body of the guitar. For example, this may be a piece of wood, length of PVC pipe, or cardboard tube, depending on how sturdy you’d like the end result to be.
- To make cardboard tubing more solid, use several tubes. Slice all but one of them down the middle lengthwise, insert them inside one another, and glue them together.
- If using PVC pipe, try to find some with a threaded end. This will make it easier to attach to the body of the guitar (see Step 4).
Step 9: Paint the neck if desired. Note that if the neck is a different material than the body, the painted result might not match (even if you use the same paint).
Step 10:Cut a neck hole in the body of the guitar if necessary.
Step 11:Attach the neck to the body of the guitar. The simplest way to do this is with a strong glue. If using PVC pipe, first screw a PVC ring onto the threaded end, then stick the threaded end through the hole you cut in Step 3, and then tightly screw another ring (or cap) onto the pipe, trapping the top wall of the guitar body between the two rings. Note that this will only work if the body of the guitar is a sturdy material and the hole is very snug.
Step 12: Now you're done, go give your new guitar some strumming!

AFL .
AFL Stands For Aussie Football League
As I was walking into class all I see is my class coming out side to line up. “ Where are we going?” I ask my friends with a puzzled look.
“We're going to AFL,” they reply.
“Whats that?” .
“Aussie Football League”.
“Yus no work in the morning block for me” I say in my head.
Entering the hall half of my class are running as fast as tigers to pick up the football balls and put them to the side of the wall. “ Calm down guys we're all going to get the ball when we practise how to do passes,” I say LOUDLY and CLEARLY.
“Hello my name is Tim and I’m going to show you some skills on what we do in AFL”.Tim was our coach who was going to take us one day each week for about 6 weeks.
AFL class is really fun it is a good strategy game and interesting. It’s fun because you have to jump and catch. Tim is a really reliable and helpful teacher. He is fun and his warm up games are really energetic. For this term AFL is my highlight of the term.

Dodge-Ball Fridays.
Every Friday team 5 classes have dodge ball challenge’s versing different classes and our team. Last Friday my class versed class 3 and they were pretty hard. They had good players and I didn't really want to serve them.
Walking into the hall seeing class 3 waiting to verse us I was nervous because I might get hit in the head with a ball hahaha. “ Ready and Play ” Said Mrs Tito and we ran to pick the ball up and throw it. I didn't run for the ball but as people were throwing them I picked one up and threw it at a player and got someone out.
Our us were down to 5 players and the other class had about 10 “ Come On class 4 we can do it just work as a team” As class 4 cheered. As I was walking up to the ball all I could see was a ball fighting to me so I caught and one of our team-mates came back into the game. After a while I got out and our class lost but it was a pretty tough game.
We did our cheers and lined up to shake the other team mates hands then we had friendly games against each other. This was my first time ever versing a class at dodge ball and I was proud of myself . We won our friendly game because we worked as a team and now i think we need more practice before on next game on Friday next week.
Next week I think we all need to work as a team and not let one person throw the ball by them self. I couldn't wait until next week because I know that I am going to try my best and never give up no matter what happens and also no cheating. Wish Me luck and This story will be continued....

Two Ways To Start a Hook.
Two way that I have started my hook.
Walking out the door all i felt was the wind buffeting my body and I started shaking. While my lips turned purple with goosebumps popping up upon my body I couldn’t feel my feet. My jacket started flapping so I zipped my jacket up and my hand’s turned numb.
One step out the door goosebumps popped up on my arms “ Mele please get a jumper on it freezing outside” Ok Mum” I said. As I grabbed my jumper I put it on and started walking to school. My teeth shivered and I couldn’t fell my hands at all .

The Science Road Show .
Entering Tamaki College all I could see were science project and also Tamaki College students. I couldn’t wait until they showed us about how science works and what they do for science. As we sat down in our seat and we all had to wait for the science teachers that have came to talk to us about science and what is science about .
Looking around I knew mostly everyone in the hall from Tamaki College and also they mostly all knew me. We all met the science people and they showed us some experiments and it was awesome. When they showed us some science experiments we all set off to try the other things that they bring with them to Tamaki College.
My favourite science experiments was the name mole because you get to get your named molded into a plastic paper. I did my name and wrote ily which stands for ILOVEYOU. They told us if we go to motat we would be able to see them there and they would show us more experiments with things. I wish that I became a science person so I could learn how to do thing with equipment and other things.

Sound Explanation
If we had no sound in the world then we wouldn’t be able to listen to amazing music that people have made. I wouldn't be able to live if there was no music because my life would be less FUN. But how does sound work ?
Sound can be made by the vibrating of the object.Sound vibrates the air molecules which vibrates your ear drum that converts to electrical signals. The sound goes through your ears hits straight to your brain. Sound can be made by the vibrating of the object. For example as you hit the drum with drumsticks the sound of that object will reflex the skin of the drums which vibrates up and down.
Sound is also different because they have different beats to each other and they also sound different. Some sound have high and low pitch sound and if the high pitch is high then it vibrates fast but if it is low it take it times.

Term 2 Week 2 Quiz.
Breaking news I have just heard that in Africa there are about 234 girls missing from their homes. Their Mums would wonder where they are because they wouldn’t return home from school. These girls have been taken from school during their breaks through school.
The girls that have been kidnapped from school have been paraded on video. The Islamic militant group Boko Haram said if they want them to release the girls that they have taken and kidnapped have to accepted Islam or they will be treated as the prophet. The girls have been treated infidels and they will have to stay with Islamic militant group Boko Haram.
How does echolocation work?.
Echolocation is the way different animals use sound waves that rebound off the objects around them. They use echolocations so they know where they are going or navigate and also know how to locate food. Bats use echolocation at night so they know if they are going to hit something of not. They emit high pitch sound which are more than 20 000 herzt.
Bats are mammals and they use echolocation at night as they are flying around or looking for prey. Bats makes noises and there noises rebound off whatever is around them back to to the bats, So the bats know if they're going to hit something or not. Bats make noises so they can get to where they need or so they can find their family.
Echolocation works by noises that people make. Ben can’t see but he can hear what is happening around him and also what is in front of him. He makes noises from his mouth so he knows what is in front of him and what is not. When you make noises it rebounds from off whatever is around you.
After watching the video about a boy who can see with no eyes i thought to myself “if I close my eyes and makes noises will be rebound off the wall ” ? Ben is just like us but he just doesn’t have eyes to see where he is heading to. I never knew echolocation could help people that a blind and get them around place’s.
